How do I book an appointment?

Give me a call on 07709 452412 and please leave a message if I am unable to answer, email me on jules@canine-bowen.co.uk, or complete the contact form on this website. I can then email you or send by post the Veterinary Confirmation Form that I need signed and stamped by your Veterinary Surgeon before I am able to offer you an appointment. Alternatively, you can download the Veterinary Confirmation Form here.

How much does CBT/MSTR® cost and how do I pay?

I charge £50 per dog within a 12 miles radius of the clinic, 13 -25 miles an extra £10 is charged, any further distance would need to be agreed at the time of booking. Discounts are available for multi-dog households. Payment is either cash on the day or BACS in advance of the appointment. Bank details are available on request.

Do you offer a mobile service, or do I bring my dog to you?

Until I have a designated canine room available, I will be offering a mobile service and will offer your dog CBT/MSTR® in your home or garden, wherever the dog is most comfortable.

What happens if my Vet will not sign the confirmation form?

Please let me know and give me their name and telephone number. I will then call your Veterinary Surgeon and talk to them for you about why they may not be happy to sign and explain more about myself and CBT and/or MSTR®. To date, I have not had a Veterinary surgeon refuse to sign a consent form.

How many sessions will my dog need?

This is a difficult question to answer, every dog responds differently. It is recommended for your dog to have two or three sessions 7 – 10 days apart. Your dog’s reaction and responses to the technique will be continually assessed and adjustments to timeframes will be made as necessary. Just like many of my human clients, a lot of my canine client benefit from a regular maintenance session every 4 to 6 weeks.

My dog is very nervous, can they still receive CBT/MSTR®?

It is very important that your dog feels comfortable with me, and some dogs will benefit from time to accept and trust me, so for some this does mean that the first session may just be about us getting to know each other and involve very little CBT or MSTR®, or even none may be offered. However, please be assured that this patience is rewarded once the dog trusts me.

Can my dog receive other complementary therapies alongside CBT/MSTR®?

I would ask that you did not mix CBT or MSTR® with any other therapies, such as physiotherapy, massage, acupuncture, chiropractic, etc. This is to make sure that your dog is not ‘overloaded’ and their body is not asked to do too much. At worse one technique could affect the responses from another and at best, you wouldn’t know what is potentially making the difference!

What if I need to cancel, change, or postpone an appointment?

Things do happen, so if you need to cancel, change, or postpone an appointment, please note that I do require 48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, I reserve the right to ask for payment in full.
